Slovakia Today, English Language Current Affairs Programme from Slovak Radio

Technological advancements as of late have been staggering in their speed and for their potential to change society in profound ways. In some, this generates a feeling of excitement and a desire to know “what's next.” In others, it provokes a feeling of dread and a longing for a return to simpler times. One such group that craves this simplicity is the Sekier ecovillage in Central Slovakia. They have built a community, shaped by shared ecological goals, that looks much like farms of the past. To understand how they survive and thrive in this challenging environment, we spoke with members of this rare ecovillage.
